Poster sessions hold the potential to promote efficient and meaningful communication and networking at conferences, yet in practice few of them would past the most common-sense sanity check, namely readability when viewed from a meter away. This workshop, presented by our special guest Jean-luc Doumont,  offers no-nonsense advice for creating concise and appealing visual presentations of your research. This special event is open to all Northeastern PhDs and postdocs, and is appropriate for all disciplines.

Doors open at 12:30 p.m. and lunch will be provided. Jean-luc Doumont's presentation begins at 1:00 p.m.

About the presenter:

An engineer from the Louvain School of Engineering and a PhD in applied physics from Stanford University, Jean-luc Doumont is the lead instructor for most of our training projects: he enjoys nothing more than standing in front of a group of grad students or professionals, challenging everything they thought they knew, provoking or facilitating a discussion, structuring their thoughts, sharpening their skills, and, importantly, arousing enthusiasm.

An articulate, entertaining, and thought-provoking presenter, Jean-luc is a popular instructor and invited speaker worldwide. Over the years, he has given hundreds of talks and workshops, in English, French, Dutch, and Spanish, at an array of companies, top-ranked universities, research laboratories, and conferences.
