Communication Series: Navigating Unscripted Moments in Job Interviews – With Improv!
- Organizer: PhD Network
- Venue: Theater Lab Space, 334 Ryder Hall
Join us for a highly interactive workshop to learn improvisational (improv) techniques that will assist you in improving your interviewing and communication skills. No prior theater or improv experience is necessary.
Engage with fellow attendees in a supportive and fun environment to:
- Develop comfort with unexpected questions and awkward moments in job interviews. Some employers will intentionally ask unexpected questions to see how you respond.
- Practice using your verbal, vocal, and visual channels of communication
- Apply improv strategies to enhance communication skills
Participants should expect to participate in improv comedy exercises with attendees in a supportive and fun environment. Breakfast will be served.
This workshop will be led by Jake Livengood, Sr. Assistant Director of Graduate Student Career Services at MIT.
