Your PhD is a journey. A journey of personal discovery as well as pushing the frontiers of your chosen subject. Moments of joy counterbalanced with deep frustration.
Those who come out on top will be those who come to understand their strengths as well as how to recognise their weaknesses. Having a vocabulary to describe how you think, feel and get things done will give you a place to go back to when your motivation dips. Knowing how unique you are will help you stop comparing your journey to others’. It will give you confidence to be yourself and help you find those ‘go to partners’ to help you be your best.
This workshop will help you explore strategies for learning from each experience, to manage supervisor meetings or translate it into a story for example, for use at future interviews.
Dr Jan Peters has worked with over 500 PhD students helping them explore how to build partnerships and relationships for success and manage the massive amount of information and knowledge that are encountered in the course of a research degree.
