A hands-on workshop series gives participants the opportunity to develop their skills to present complex research to non experts. Apply design thinking to create engaging, effective presentations. Participants will learn how to structure their talk, incorporate active learning strategies, and build on students’ prior knowledge and motivation. We will use theatre improv to connect to audiences and further develop inclusive climates for diverse learners. In the final session, participants will give brief (3- to 5-minute) research talks and receive feedback. Refreshments will be provided each day.
Are you a continuing PhD student and interested in helping us to welcome new PhD students as part of our new PhD student orientation this fall? Let us know here and we will be in touch! New PhD students will receive a separate notification.
