Academic Technology Scholars
We are pleased to announce the continuation of the “Academic Technology Scholars” program, which will provide SGA stipend funding to selected PhD students for Spring 2022 term. Students who are selected to receive this honor will receive training and the opportunity to earn a certificate in “Teaching with Academic Technology.” These Academic Technology Scholars will also be members of a digital curriculum team dedicated to supporting faculty working in hybrid formats for Spring 2022. These efforts are aligned with our focus to ensure a differentiated, high-quality student experience for all of our learners.
Timetable
Applications due: no later than November 1, 2021
Selections made by first week of December 2021
Certification training starts: January 2022
- Training begins January 2022
- The Academic Technology training will build competencies in Canvas, elements of effective online delivery, and pedagogy fundamentals. Includes in-person and remote learning modalities and use of academic technology.
- At the successful completion of the training, including portfolio submission and review if applicable, ATAP Scholars earn the badge.
- ATAP Scholars will be supported on SGA stipend funding during Spring 2022
- Funding continuation is dependent on successful progress and completion of the Academic Technology training and badge.
- PhD student in good academic standing.

Preference will be given to those who have:
- Previous experience as a teaching assistant
- Demonstrated motivation to learn about innovative teaching methods
- Applications received by November 1, 2021
