  • Organizer: Center for Advancing Teaching and Learning through Research
  • Venue: 215 Snell Library

RSVP Event Website

Fostering inclusive learning environments that encourage deep engagement involves cultivating a sense of belonging among learners as well as identifying and eliminating stereotype threat. In this session, we will discuss visible and invisible identities, how these identities are affected by threatening and reassuring contingencies in the learning environment, and instructor strategies that can effectively combat achievement gaps in student performance. Lunch will be provided.

This workshop is part of the Fostering Belonging series, which is offered in collaboration with OIDI, CIE, and the LGBTQA Resource Center.
