CATLR Event: Writing Feedback for Multilingual Learners

  • Organizer: Center for Advancing Teaching and Learning through Research
  • Venue: 215 Snell Library

RSVP Event Website

What are the best practices for providing writing feedback to individuals whose first or strongest language is not English? Research on language acquisition shows that the process of learning to write in another language is gradual and reinforced over time in multiple learning environments. In this interactive workshop (jointly presented by CATLR, Global Student Success, and the Northeastern Writing Program), participants will be invited to reimagine writing feedback from the learner’s perspective. Together, participants will examine the research in written corrective feedback and explore practical strategies that support multilingual learners. Lunch will be provided.

Recommended for: Educators who support learners’ development as writers

For Future Faculty Program participants, this session fulfills the “Diversity & Inclusive Teaching” requirement
