Lourdes is interested in exploring social and environmental justice issues, in particular how changes in land-use affect oppressed groups seeking social and geographic mobility. The work of Professors Daniel Faber and Phil Brown have influenced her studies, and she looks forward becoming involved with the Social Science Environmental Health Research Institute and Northeastern Environmental Justice Research Collaborative through the Sociology and Anthropology Department’s connections.
