The Experiential Postdoc
Building the post-doctoral workforce through academic-industry partnerships
This program offers a postdoctoral researcher the opportunity to receive training from a Northeastern faculty member and from an industry partner on a jointly-designed research project.
How it works
- A faculty member at Northeastern and a Scientist at a partner organization jointly identify a need for a Postdoctoral researcher. Both will advise the Postdoc.
- The two institutions create a job description. Northeastern advertises for the position. The partner can interview candidates.
- The selected candidate is hired as Northeastern employee.
- The Partner pays Northeastern for salary, fringe benefits, and other agreed upon costs (materials, training)
- Work is conducted at both locations
- Company owns any new IP
