Alberta Learning Information Service (ALIS) – Sir James Lougheed Graduate Scholarships
The Sir James Lougheed Award of Distinction honours the Calgary lawyer, parliamentarian, senator and cabinet minister who served in several federal parliaments in the late 1800s and early 1900s. This award recognizes academic excellence and provides Alberta students in graduate programs with the opportunity for study outside of Alberta at institutions anywhere in the world. Each year up to fifteen students may be eligible for awards.
Duration
1 year with possible renewal for a 2nd year
Funding
- Masters level: $15,000 per year.
- Doctoral level: $15,000 first year, $20,000 subsequent year.
Eligibility
- Students in any discipline may apply.
- Applicants must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada and be Alberta residents.
- Applicants must be enrolled or planning to enroll full-time in a graduate program at an institution outside of Alberta.
- There is a lifetime maximum of two awards per student.
