American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) Dissertation Scholarship

The AHIMA Foundation offers scholarships annually to students members in pursuit of degrees in Health Information Management or Health Informatics.

The program is designed to provide scholarships to doctoral students who are in the stages of conducting research and writing their dissertation.

Funding

$9,000 for doctoral level

Eligibility

To be eligible for dissertation support, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Current member of the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA)
  • Actively enrolled and pursuing a doctoral degree in health information or health informatics discipline at an accredited school in the United States (ABD candidates)
  • Successfully defended dissertation proposal, confirmed by the candidate’s advisor
  • Candidate is in good academic standing
  • Submit a completed online application
  • Have not been awarded any AHIMA Foundation Scholarship for the academic degree being sought through this application
