American Institute of Pakistan Studies (AIPS) – Conference Travel Grant

Deadline: Continuous

NOTE: Applications should be submitted at least one month prior to the start of the conference for which funding is requested. Travel to Pakistan will be handled on a case-by-case basis as security restrictions continue to change. No international travel to Pakistan is permitted at this time.

Awards for US Citizens are funded through grants from either the Council of American Overseas Research Centers or the US Embassy in Islamabad. Awards for Non-US Citizens are funded by AIPS’ unrestricted funds and are pending availability of funds. Non-US citizens applying for international travel are welcome to email the AIPS office to confirm that travel funds are available prior to filling out an application.

  • Up to $1,000 for domestic conference travel.
  • $1,500-$2,000 for international conference travel.
Eligibility

Applicants:

  • May be of any nationality. Non-US Citizens are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Must be affiliated with a US academic institution, regardless of US Citizenship status.
  • Must be an AIPS Individual Member or be affiliated with an AIPS Institutional Member.
  • May only receive one award per year with preference given to those who have not received a travel grant in the previous two years.
