Center for Engaged Scholarship (CES) – Dissertation Completion Fellowship

Deadline: 12/15/2018

What is Engaged Scholarship?

Engaged scholarship advances progressive values such as greater equality within and across nations, more effective democratic governance, and more enlightened environmental policies.

WHY IS IT NEEDED?

A militant right-wing in the U.S. with vast financial resources is committed to increasing economic and social inequality, reversing the gains won by women and racial minorities, and establishing rule by the rich. It is urgent that to mobilize the best ideas to counter their offensive.

IS IT CREDIBLE?

It is a myth that good scholarship in the social sciences must be value free. The CES has many powerful examples of academic research that are politically engaged and that meet the highest scholarly standards.
