eFellows Engineering Postdoctoral Fellowship
The eFellows program places early-career PhDs in engineering fields in university research postdoctoral fellowships. In addition to hands-on academic research with a faculty advisor, each fellowship cohort will participate in professional development and mentoring activities designed to prepare them for future research careers.
The eFellows program is administered by the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) with funding provided by the National Science Foundation (NSF).
Duration
One year, with possibility of two years.
Funding
$75,000 per year, for two years.
Upon selection, ASEE will issue subawards to host institutions, to cover salary, benefits and up to $3,000 for travel expenses per fellow.
Eligibility
- Pursuing research in an area under the umbrella of the NSF Engineering Directorate.
- Completed their PhD (or up to a second postdoc) between 1/1/2019-08/31/2022.
- Be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
- Select faculty advisors that are tenured, or tenure-track faculty employed at a U.S. academic institution; they may not be the applicant’s PhD advisor or current/most recent postdoc advisor.
- Will complete their fellowship at a U.S. institution.
- Coordinate with a faculty postdoc advisor to apply as a pair, developing the application in a collaborative manner (applicants may submit up to two applications but can only be awarded one of them).
