Global Learning Instructor Part-time
Individuals will teach a 1-credit, online Global Learning Experience seminar course for first-year students enrolled in the N.U. in and N.U. Bound programs (international mobility programs) who are on-site in Italy, Ireland, and England. The online seminar asks the questions: What is global citizenship? What does it mean to act as a global citizen? The online seminar will focus on global citizenship, cosmopolitanism, pluralism, and cultural difference in the twenty-first century. Students will define terms such as global citizenship, cosmopolitanism, pluralism, and culture. They will critically analyze and apply these ideas as they engage in personal reflection and team-based problem-solving, connecting issues they encounter during their own global experience in their host site with broader dynamics of globalization, migration, positionality, power, and privilege.
The seminar course will take place online in both synchronous and asynchronous formats.
Some course development (shifting of readings, recording mini-lectures, improvements to course design and syllabus) is also a possibility for instructors in this position, depending on teaching and research expertise.
