King Clinical Postdoctoral Fellowship Award
Health Resources in Action is extending the deadline for the 2022 Charles A. King Trust Clinical/Health Services Research Fellowship Program. This award provides 2 years of postdoctoral stipend.
This program is designed to support clinical or health services research scientists in the early- to mid-stages of their career conducting mentored research training that focuses on the causes of human disease with the mission of improving its treatment. Clinical and Health Services research funded by this program support human studies including physiological research, behavioral science and health education research, translational research (the application of bench research to patient care), epidemiological research, health policy, outcomes research, and population health, regardless of specialty or discipline.
This award provides 2 years of postdoctoral stipend
$111,520 to $130,072 over 2 years, for stipend only. Award amount is based on the number of years of completed full-time postdoctoral experience, as of the funding start date of October 1, 2022.
- No more than 6 years of employment since completion of residency training or 3 to 6 years of postdoctoral employment by October 1, 2022.
- M.D., D.M.D., M.D./Ph.D., Ph.D., or comparable degree and engaged in mentored postdoctoral research in an academic or medical research institution in the state of Massachusetts.
- At least one primary author, peer reviewed research article from postdoctoral work.
- Research involving human subjects that is:
- Patient-oriented research. Research conducted with human subjects (or on material of human origin such as tissues, specimens, and cognitive phenomena) for which an investigator (or colleague) directly interacts with human subjects. Excluded from this definition are in vitro studies that utilize human tissues that cannot be linked to a living individual. It includes: (a) mechanisms of human disease, (b), therapeutic interventions, (c) clinical trials, or (d) development of new technologies.
- Epidemiological and behavioral studies.
- Outcomes and health services research
- Research projects involving animal, patient derived tissue or samples, or cell culture models seeking to understand basic science questions are not eligible.
