Laboratory Instructor in the Biology Department at Williams College
The Biology Department at Williams College, a premier liberal arts college with a long-standing tradition of excellence in the sciences, invites applications for a laboratory instructor to begin July or August 2019. We are interested in candidates who can contribute to the intellectual vibrancy and diversity of the academic community and who are committed to working effectively with a diverse student population.
We seek a lab instructor for an introductory course in cell and molecular biology (fall term) and a comparative animal physiology course (spring term). In addition to teaching two or three laboratory sections per week, the successful candidate will be expected to contribute to lab course development and updating lab manuals. Other duties may include advising undergraduates and departmental service.

This will be a non-tenure-track faculty appointment. The initial contract, which includes benefits, is half-time (0.5 FTE) for one academic year with the potential for renewal upon satisfactory job performance.
A Ph.D. in biological sciences is preferred; candidates with equivalent research experience or a Master’s degree will also be considered. We are especially interested in candidates with inquiry-based lab teaching experience and who are also familiar with vertebrate physiology techniques.
