Reimagining Museums for Climate Action: An International Design Competition

The Arts and Humanities Research Council invites entries for its reimagining museums for climate action competition. This seeks to reimagine the role of museums to help society transform to a low carbon future, adapt to the impacts of climate change, and safeguard ecosystems. This competition asks designers, architects, academics, artists, poets, philosophers, writers, museum professionals, indigenous groups, community groups and the public at large to radically reimagine and redesign the museum as an institution, to help bring about more equitable and sustainable futures in the climate change era.

Proposals that address the following priority themes are of particular interest:
– climate justice;
– green futures.

£2,500GBP

Eight prizes, worth £2,500 each, are available for candidates to to develop their ideas into exhibits. These will be displayed at Glasgow Science Centre ahead of and during COP26, the United Nations Climate Change conference, in 2021.
Eligibility

The competition is open to anyone over the age of 18. Submissions can be made by individuals or small teams.
