LEADERs Information Email to Postdocs

Dear Postdocs,

Recently you received an email from Dr. Jason Sidman about LEADERs.

The LEADERs program is a professional development program designed specifically for researchers like yourself to help you overcome challenges through professional skills training and career exploration for both academic and non-academic positions.

In addition to a course to teach you important communication, project management, teaming and leadership skills, LEADERs also provides you with personal mentoring in order to give you the customized attention and guidance you need to help you navigate work challenges and career exploration.

Looking back at my own career, I wish that I had the opportunity to engage in a program like LEADERs while I was a Postdoc.  I strongly recommend that you enroll in this important program.  The first course, Leading Self and Others (PHDL 7600), focuses on skill sets that will help you increase your capacity in leading teams and managing lab work.  Following this course, you may choose to pursue a “leadership” project within your PI’s lab to complete the full Leadership Certificate.
