At Northeastern, PhD students and their faculty mentors pursue research that is use-inspired, focused on discovering solutions to urgent global challenges, including health, security, and sustainability.

Through robust collaborations with industry, government, and other academic institutions worldwide, students advance interdisciplinary fields such as cybersecurity, drug discovery and delivery, healthcare delivery and policy, infrastructure resilience, and urban sustainability. Through these innovative partnerships, they gain experience that imparts relevance to their dissertation research.

Travel funding applications are now open. Up to $500 available to PhD students with matching funds to enable attendance at professional meetings. Deadlines are November 17th, December 8th, December 31st, and then the last day of every month: January 31st; February 28th; March 31st; and so on.
